'Santiago' is in very good condition following her 3 yr re-fit during '95-'98 by her current owner. All hull defects were corrected either during this refit or the previous '85-'88 re-build prior to grit blasting and application of Jotun Jotomastic epoxy in 1998, which is so far uncompromised.
Also during her last refit the interior was removed, upgraded and replaced along with all the ballast which was replaced with lead ingots and cemented in.
The current owners sold up and moved aboard in 1998, leaving Great Yarmouth shortly afterwards. After a year in the Canary Islands 'Santiago' was sailed across the Atlantic Ocean (via the Cape Verde Islands) to her current cruising grounds of the Eastern Caribbean. Time for the crossing to Martinique was 20 days.
| She is an utterly reliable, very strong and sea kindly vessel that would suit a young couple looking for a bit of Caribbean adventure without the hassle of having to cross an ocean. | |
| Easy mast stepping for canal/river cruising, SSR registered and VAT exempt due to her age. |
Sale is due to current owners looking for a bigger boat to continue on around the world.
| Reasonable flight costs to the Caribbean will be refunded to the lucky purchaser of 'Santiago'. |
