Specifications

Albatross is a 21m Steel, three masted, long keel, Staysail Schooner. She was built 1984 by R.W.Davis & Son of Saul, Gloucestershire, for the then owner of the company, who planned to sail around the world. She was designed by the builders in association with the British Ship Research Association.

She has not sailed round the world. She has effectively been laid up, afloat, at Castletown, Isle of Man for many years, and now must be sold as a project yacht.

Her engine and generator have not been run for over 10 years; there are no batteries on-board. Her electrical, electronic and mechanical systems are mostly original and and would need to be carefully reviewed and probably replaced.

Her galvanised standing rigging was replaced in 2010/2011; and her zinc anodes have been maintained.
