The engine room is steel-lined with 2 of the 5 watertight bulkheads fore and aft.
Protected by CO2 fire extinguishing system with visible and audible alarms and controlled from pilothouse (new 2004).

Scania DSI11 main engine 
Coupled to SCG MRF 750HD hydraulic reversing gearbox. (Overhauled 2002)

50 gallon diesel day tank with manual and electric feed pumps 

Electric bilge pump connected to valve chest serving the five compartments throughout the ship. 
It can also act as a fire pump (with changeover valves)

65,000 Btu oil-fired boiler supplying central heating and domestic hot water services
Pumped hot loop throughout ship
25 gallon calorifier
Fresh water service pump with standby and associated expansion vessels
